Users

Idesk handles and allows you to add two kinds of users.

  1. AD / LDAP user
  2. Web User

AD / LDAP User

This is straightforward and covered in the section Active Directory / LDAP

Web User

A web user is a LOCAL Idesk user. An advantage of adding such a user is you do not need to add this record to AD to have this user access resources. Another use case is where you need to setup event triggers based on an email address.

Some organisations working with outsourced vendors prefer that such personell only have access to the desk to perform their duties.
